our history
Rolfe Subaru is the trading name of the Rolfe Motor Corporation (No.1) Pty. Ltd.; proudly part of the Rolfe Motor Group, the largest network of dealerships in the ACT. We are dedicated to providing the ACT with exceptional products and service through the Subaru brand.
The Rolfe family first become involved in the motor trade in August 1973. From humble beginnings, what became the Rolfe Motor Group went from strength to strength until it held the lion’s share of franchises in the Australian Capital Territory. The Group’s success has always been due to a philosophy of strong local relationships, community involvement, outstanding customer service and strong ethics.
Rolfe Subaru was established in August 1997 in a small shop on Melrose Drive with only three staff members. The business enjoyed immediate success then increased sales year upon year until reaching the point where we had simply outgrown our original facilities. Our new dealership, opened in August 2006 and became a benchmark for modern motor dealerships. Our centre boasts state-of-the-art facilities for new vehicle sales, parts and accessories. Our service department hosts 16 service bays, the most up-to-date, Subaru-specific diagnostic equipment, four-wheel, eight-channel wheel aligner and tyre supply and fit facilities.
Subaru Australia and Fuji Heavy Industries were that impressed by our outstanding record and commitment to the Subaru brand that they offered for us to be part of the exclusive STi franchise network; the ACT’s first and only STi dealership and one of only 13 in the country.
Since our new centre opened, we have proved that becoming bigger does not necessarily mean a decrease in personalised customer service. Vehicle sales continue to be the strongest in our dealer zone. The Canberra community has recognised the strength and professionalism of our aftersales service as demand for our service facilities continues to grow month after month.
Rolfe Subaru: proud to be the only locally-owned Subaru franchise in the ACT and a part of the Canberra community.
